How it works
Watch the movie
Every day the Getting-Paid system asks Xero 5 questions about your Xero account:-
- Have you approved any new invoices? If you have it gets the details and starts chasing them as they become due. If an invoice is paid on or before the due date it won't be chased (unless you have selected to send pre-due reminders).
- Have any of your invoices been paid in full? Getting-Paid will stop chasing invoices that you've marked as paid in Xero.
- Has the invoice been voided? Getting-Paid stops chasing voided invoices and those with zero value.
- Has the amount on any invoice changed. (Perhaps you added a line item or allowed a discount since you first made the invoice.) It updates the amount in the chasing system so that it’s always current.
- Have any of your customer’s details changed? Getting-Paid automatically updates changes to customer details so you only have to worry about doing it in one place: - Xero.
It’s really easy to get started.
1.Log in to Xero as you would normally. If you don’t have a Xero account you can get one here.
2.Generate an API Key.
- Click on the 'Settings' menu and then go to the 'General Settings' page.
- From there click on the 'Xero Network' link and scroll all the way down the page to the Getting-Paid entry and click on the 'Generate Key' button.
- Scroll back down to the Getting-Paid entry and copy that long ugly phrase. You'll need to enter it into the Getting-Paid system.
3.Update your Xero Account. Make sure that all the invoices that have been paid are marked as paid in Xero. You don’t want to send reminders to people who have already paid!
4.Set up the Getting-Paid system. If you don't already have a Getting-Paid account you'll need to set one up.
Open it in a new window and log in with the username and password you created when you set up your account. Click here to do this now:
- Head over to the ‘Settings’ page and take a look at each of the template messages. Change them if you’re not comfortable with the wording.
- Enter acceptable payment methods. ‘Reminder Message Settings’, ‘General Settings’.
5. Enter your Xero API Key into the Getting-Paid system.
- Click on the 'Settings' link at the top of the page and then the 'Accounting Package' link.
- Select 'Xero' from the drop down list and paste that long ugly phrase into the API Key field.
- Click on the ‘Save Changes’ button and you’re done.
Your unpaid invoices will appear in your Getting-Paid account within next 30 minutes or so.
If an invoice becomes overdue we'll send a very gentle reminder to your customer from you and we'll keep doing that until the invoice is cancelled or paid or until you tell the system to stop chasing that invoice.
